Help
and Advice for Posting
Posting for the first time on the forum can be intimidating. We pride
ourselves in the fact that we look after the people who post on our
site and in return, our reputation has grown for being the friendliest
site around.
You will find plenty of help and advice as people jump to assist you
when you begin posting. We all had to start somewhere.
The Postform
When you click the "post" button on the forum, you will
be faced with the "Postform" page.
Nickname or Handle
On this page you will need to fill out a "Nickname" in the
appropriate box. Any name will do and this is sometimes referred to
as a "handle". It's just a nice way for everyone to have
something to call you by!
Subject field
The "subject" field refers to what will be the title of
your post once it is made on the forum. This will be the line that
is clickable that viewers click to see the content of your post, so
please make it something appropriate! |

Message
Text
Next, and finally is the "message text" box. The largest
area is where you type your message for others to read.
Our forum has been designed so that you can simply type in the URL (address) of
a web page and when your post is made, it will become a clickable link automatically.
In order to do this, you MUST type in the "entire" address, including
the "http://" bit at the beginning.
Try to remember if you are making a comment or asking a question and NOT posting
a link of any kind, type NM/NP at the beginning of your subject. This is simply
a way of letting other users of the forum that your post does not contain a link.
NM = No Movies, NP = No Pictures. It's just good manners.
Click the "preview" button if you want to see your message BEFORE it
is made to the forum.
All that remains now is for you to press the "post" button and you are
finished. Sit back and wait for the kind comments in appreciation of your efforts.
And here's one from the staff of the European-Dream...Thank you!
Note:
PLEASE make sure that you read the Rules for posting on the forum. We take a very
dim view and very firm action with spamming, flaming (abusing other users) or
abuse of the site.
Please do not ask about removed or edited posts. Unless you know you are spamming, the answer
is most likely to be that it was removed by mistake. Humans run this site! Or the
links went dead as this sometimes happens. Trust us, if your post was edited or deleted it was
either an accident or we had good reason to do so.
Posts asking about edits or deletions will be removed and e-mails on the subject will not
be answered. |
